Synopsis from Goodreads

Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

First Line: I smelled blood as soon as I walked into the room.

 My Review:

The Plot:

Kanin, Allisons maker is still missing and she sets of for an epic journey trying to find him, along the way she comes across the Raider King Jackal and forms an unlikely alliance to help save Kanin and find a cure for the Rabids,  But back in New Covington someone has unleashed a new version of the Red lung virus, sending humans crazy and Vampires  rotting and trapped in their bodies.

This is not your average Dystopian, there are a lot of moral undertones, that really make you think.  Such as, what would you do If you had the choice to die or become the monster that you have fought your whole life to stay away from? Then we have the choices others make that affect you, such as what would happen if the one person you trusted in life betrayed you so they can have a comfortable life.

Allison is confronted with a lot of moral and emotional issues during this book and Julie Kagawa really makes you feel deeply with the characters, you feel the whole range of emotions with Allison, betrayal, Anger, Sadness, you really feel like you are there.

Allison’s Love Life:

No love triangle yay!  I don’t want to give any spoilers but lets just say, It is sweet, heartbreaking and wonderful.

The Verdict:

This Book is being added to my favourites.  It is amazing, usually I am itching to write a review and get my thoughts down straight after finishing a story, but I just couldn’t with this one It has taken me 24 hours to process it. It has everything for fans of dystopian fiction and fans of vampires and paranormal fiction. It has Violence, love, heartbreak, humor and Adventure you can’t get much better than this.
