Synopsis from Goodreads
Lexia thought she was normal, ordinary…
Lincoln thought he’d spend the rest of his life seeking revenge…
What would you do if the person you loved was your enemy?
When Lexia snuck out one night to go to a party, she hardly expected to be attacked by vampires. Much less be able to kill them with her bare hands.
That night triggers events Lexia can’t escape and soon she struggles to keep up a facade around her friends and family.
And then there’s Lincoln; she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him. But Lexia senses he wants something more dangerous than a simple romance.
Lincoln has secrets and what she learns changes her life forever.
A story of love, loss and betrayal.
Only one thing is certain, Lexia and Lincoln’s lives will never be the same again.
Ok well I am going to start at the ending because OMG, How could you do this to Us! The ending is a huge Cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read Whispers to find out what happens.
Now I got that out the way, I really enjoyed reading Lexia, The cover is just Beautiful, One of my favourites and we all know that I am a cover whore.
I really enjoyed the characters, Lexia is living with her father and going to school when she starts to notice changes. Lexia comes across some vampires in an alley and absolutely decimated them. Lexia starts to realize that something isn’t right, she is stronger, faster and has mad fighting skills. Lexia is a believable character although after reading a lot of Y.A lately I had to remind myself that she is older than her peers especially when things heat up.
Lincoln is another character which I also enjoyed. When we meet Lincoln he is an arrogant Arse. He shows up at Lexia’s work and he comes of as a creepy stalker more than a sexy self-assured man. We learn that Lincoln has a secret that could destroy Lexia, but lucky he falls in love with her and becomes her protector and trainer as she learns how to handle her new changes.
The story line of Lexia is full of action, detailed fighting, Hot sexy romance scenes. I did feel that The Hunter storyline was a bit off, in that they had no personal connection to the reader or Lexia they were just a group of people who kept showing up to kill Lexia, although this is addressed in the end and I think this will be a main storyline in Whispers. I just found it hard to have any feeling for these people at all. Another problem I had were the wolves that attacked Lexia I don’t know if I missed something but I am not sure why they attacked Lexia. This is the only problems I had with the novel and they are only Minor. The story line is wonderful and kept me entertained that Instead of Rushing through reading it I took my time and enjoyed it.
I highly recommend Lexia as a great Debut novel from a wonderful Aussie Author.
